PROFFESIONAL SKILLS

Branding Strategy:
Created concept and led strategic branding project conceptualization to transform brand awareness, appeal and congruency for St. James Town Community Corner via a complete re-brand strategy and redesign to a friendlier, welcoming and more accessible brand (“The Corner”).

Creative Direction:
Rebranded annual report series for non-profit organization with an innovative design that was praised by senior management, showcased in office suite and boosted overall brand profile.

Art Direction:
Created numerous corporate branding projects with consistent branding style and components that were applied to signage, banners, powerpoint templates, social media, business cards and other corporate materials for variety of organizations.

Editorial Layout:
When I art directed community newspapers several editors sent an email to my boss praising the layout of the newspapers I worked on. My boss asked who designed a spread when he saw it was on the senior editor's computer being checked.

UI/UX Design:
Successfully guided a client in a new design direction when I knew the photographs they wanted could not be accommodated in their budget. A fellow designer who I respect told me he really liked a Ecommerce website I art directed.

Typography / Typesetting:
Recognized as “The Type Guy” for deep and refined expertise with typography; asked to use my type skills to finesse the Canada Post logo. Also asked to check the type of other designers in the studio.

Photography:
Photoshop skills are strong from using the program as a graphic designed, serious amateur photographer and pre-press work.

Project Management:
It was not unusual for me to have 3 deadlines a week for several weeks at a time so I learned to schedule my own time and deal with any potential production issues ahead of time.
